The Newfoundland Club of America Water Test is a series of exercises designed to show the instinctive and learned skills that have been a recorded part of the breed history for centuries. Unsurpassed as a functioning companion, the Water Rescue Newfoundland combines the ability to take commands from his handler while using his own intelligence and skills. Newfoundland Club members meet for training sessions during the Spring and Summer, and sponsor annual Water Tests.
There are three levels of water work.
1. Junior Division: Water Dog (WD)
2. Senior Division: Water Rescue Dog (WRD)
3. Excellent Division: Water Rescue Dog Excellent (WRDX)
