The Wyoming Street ramp off the 23rd Viaduct is permanently closed.

Access from Ceasar Chavez will be closed until July 2008

HANC will be participating this year at the KC Pet Expo. We need many volunteers to help with this event! Teams of two or more members will take shifts throughout the day. The event hours are Saturday 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm. Please contact Barbara if you can take a two to four hour shift. Shifts will be assigned on a first come, first served basis so volunteer early. We also need help with booth decorations, set-up and take-down. Booth space (10 x 20) and tables are provided by the event staff. Crates are mandatory but may be made available through other club members. Please advise if you need a crate provided.

This is a very large public event and very crowded. Dogs should be able to handle the stress of many people of all ages petting and crowding around as well as close proximity to other breeds of dogs and other types of companion animals. Please be sure your dog is willing to accept this kind of environment before volunteering to bring him or her. We are delighted to have you help without your dog if interested.

New members are encouraged to participate. The club will provide brochures and printed information about Newfoundland dogs to guests at our booth. The team members will answer inquiries and promote responsible pet ownership to the public. New members will be teamed with more experienced members to aid in answering questions.
